Intimate dinners and curated socials for the founders, operators, and investors building San Francisco's next chapter.
"Every great company starts with a conversation.
We just set the table."
01 — The brand
Thred curates the rooms where San Francisco gets built. We bring founders, operators, and investors together — not for another name-tag mixer, but for nights that actually move things forward.
We run two kinds of nights. Thred Table — intimate, invite-only dinners for a tight circle of founders and early-stage investors. And Open Thred — wider socials that welcome the whole spectrum, from first-time builders to Series B operators.
02 — Our Events
03 — Community
From pre-seed to Series A. We bring in the builders who are deep in the work — writing the product brief at midnight and closing customers by morning.
The VP who's scaled GTM from zero. The Head of Eng who's led through hypergrowth. The people who know what it actually takes to build the machine.
Partners who write checks and add value beyond capital. Angels who've been operators. People who know when to push and when to let founders find their own way.
04 — From the Archives
Every Thred event is documented.
No faces tagged. Always analog.

By the Numbers
The most important conversations in San Francisco
happen in rooms most people never get invited to.
We believe that changes when the right twelve people sit down together.
No agenda. No panels. No one performing for the crowd.
Just founders, operators, and investors — being honest about the work.
— The Thred Way
Voices from the Table
I closed my seed round with someone I met at a Thred Table. We'd sat next to each other at a dinner two months prior — no pitch, just a real conversation. That's the magic of the format.
Every other networking event in SF feels like a tradeshow. Thred feels like someone's living room — intentional, quiet, and full of people who are actually building something.
The curation is what makes it work. You don't have to filter through a hundred conversations to find the one that matters — at Thred, they're all like that.
Common Questions
You apply, we review. Every application is read by a real person — we look at who you are, what you're building, and how you might contribute to the room. If there's a dinner or social where you'd be a natural fit, you'll hear from us. If not right now, we keep your application on file and reach out when the moment is right.
Thred Table dinners are complimentary for guests — we cover the table. Open Thred events have a small cover that goes toward the venue and experience. There are no membership fees, no paywalls, no upsells.
Founders from pre-seed through Series B, operators at the VP and C-suite level, and investors who write real checks. We deliberately keep it tight — no one's there to sell you something. The mix varies by event, and we share a guest list before every dinner so you know exactly who you'll be in the room with.
Thred Table runs once a month — twelve seats, one evening. Open Thred happens quarterly. We also host occasional one-off evenings around big SF moments: Demo Day weeks, fundraising seasons, and moments worth gathering for.
For Thred Tables, the seats are allocated individually — each person is personally curated for the room. For Open Thred, yes, you can bring someone worth meeting. If they're building something interesting, they belong here.
Our events are in-person in San Francisco. That said, if you're visiting and happen to be in the city during an event, let us know — some of our best tables have included people passing through.
